Live Transcribe & Sound Notifications is an Android app to make everyday conversations and important surrounding sounds more accessible for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. The app converts speech to real-time text captions in over 120 languages and dialects using just your Android phone’s microphone, allowing users to follow conversations easily without needing an interpreter or additional device. It also detects sounds like alarms, baby cries, or appliance beeps and notifies the user through vibrations, notifications, or visual alerts. Developed in collaboration with Gallaudet University, it aims to enhance communication and awareness in everyday life for users with hearing challenges.

Support for external microphones (wired, Bluetooth, USB) to improve audio accuracy.
Ability to save transcriptions locally for 3 days with an option to copy/paste, and typed responses for two-way communication.
